Graphic Design | Rebranding

Precision NanoSystems Project

Role: Designer

Date: October 2023 | May 2024

Programs: Adobe Illustrator, InDesign

For scientific conferences, Precision NanoSystems would prepare 1-5 posters to show research data using our products and instruments. After the integration with Cytiva, assets including posters were rebranded from PNI to Cytiva branding. Cytiva has a strict branding guideline that required training, and a strong attention to detail. Below is an example of a PNI poster rebranded to Cytiva’s template in portrait and landscape. PNI posters were made in Illustrator while Cytiva’s poster templates are in InDesign and PowerPoint.

Process

  1. The R&D scientists create a draft using PowerPoint with an introduction, methods, results, conclusion, and references.
  2. The draft is reviewed by stakeholders including marketing and product management.
  3. The approved draft is given to graphic design, and we fit all the text and images into the poster template in Illustrator/InDesign. I would recolor and redraw images and graphs to be consistent with our brand. I’d make sure that all font, text styling, and alignment is correct and legible.
  4. The poster is reviewed, corrections are made and the poster is sent to print and uploaded to the website.
